Hey guys! My name is Sarah, most of you know me as one of the awesome coaches at CrossFit Killeen. The purpose of this post is to give you a brief background on myself and what the goal of this blog is. First up, a little about me;
I am a wife and Mom to three crazy, amazing kids. After leaving the Army I got my personal training certification and then later on my CrossFit Level 1, continuing my pursuit for fitness and nutrition. The fitness side came easy to me because I have always been active, as a kid playing sports and even when I was in the military, always pushing to keep up that 300 PT score. Nutrition on the other hand was something that like most people I struggled with. I fell into the trap of thinking I could out train my bad food choices and be fine, then I got to the point where I wanted to not just be good at whatever physical activity I was doing but I wanted to be great at it and started looking at my diet and wondering what the effects food had on my performance. That's when my research began! I tried a lot of different "diets" before I got to the point of really seeing what my food was made up of, what it broke down to, and what that meant for me.
My hope for this blog is to give you some fun, easy recipes that will make eating healthy a little easier and delicious! Keep in mind guys a lot of the recipes I'm giving you are changes from other things I've tired. There's nothing new under the sun, and cooking is not one of my favorite things to do, (lol) but with all my experimenting and dedication to wanting to live a healthy life, while still eating great tasting food, I make simple, easy, usually quick recipes that I've adapted from other sources. The goal is to get a recipe out to you once a week and then open up the blog to Q & A once a week to help clarify any of your questions you may have, throw around some feed back and share some great tweaks that you may have tried on your own for the recipes posted. Overall, I want to have fun with this blog and give you some great information to help you stay on track with your eating, so you begin to feel better and see those progressions you are looking for no matter what your goal. I'm really looking forward to sharing recipes with you and having a place to answer your questions!
Sounds great! Bring it.
